Mateo’s Leukemia Fund
My sister Christy and her husband Gerardo are the most hard working, loving, generous souls you'll ever meet. They would never ask for help, so here I am to ask on their behalf.
This little man is Mateo, their son. He is a rambunctious, smart and loving 2 year old. On December 27th after taking him to Phoenix’s Children’s Hospital for what his parents thought was a rash they got the devastating diagnosis that he has ALL, Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He started Chemo on the 28th. The day prior our dad was intubated because of Covid, he unfortunately did not make it and passed on January 2nd while Mateo was still in the hospital. He isn’t here anymore to hold her hand and tell her “Todo va estar bien”, in Spanish it means “everything will be alright”. My sister and her husband have been so incredibly strong and holding on to their Faith in these difficult times. I admire them for not only their faith but their drive to help others and advocate and be the voice of hope for other parents who may get such a debilitating diagnosis like their baby.
Mateos treatment comes at a very big and unexpected expense to her little family. They also have another 3 year old son and now reduced to only one income they can’t afford to do this alone, I don’t know anyone that could. The donations will go towards Mateos chemo treatments, medications, hospital stays & other expenses they may have in this journey. No amount is too small. As always prayers for strength, healing, and comfort are encouraged and welcomed!

Mi hermana Christy y su esposo Gerardo son los más trabajadores, amorosos y generosos que ustedes puedan conocer. Ellos nunca pedirían ayuda, por eso yo estoy aquí pidiéndola.
Este pequeñito es Mateo, su hijo. Es un niño tan inteligente y lleno de vida de tan solo 2 añitos. El 27 de diciembre lo llevaron al Phoenix Children’s hospital por lo que pensaban era una alergia en su cuerpecito, pero pronto los doctores les dieron el diagnóstico que el pequeño de mateo tiene ALL, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Una noticia tan devastadora. El día anterior nuestro papá tuvo que ser intubado por covid, el tristemente no sobrevivió y murió mientras mateo seguía hospitalizado. El ya no está aquí para detener su mano y decirle que todo va estar bien. Mi hermana y su esposo han sido increíblemente fuertes y con una fe tan grande. Los admiro no solo por su fe pero también porque ellos aún quieren ayudar a otros papás, y ser la voz de esperanza para los niños y padres que están recibiendo estos diagnosis tan debilitantes y devastadores para sus hijos.
El tratamiento de Mateo viene con un costo tan grande para su pequeña familia. Tiene un hijo más de 3 años y ahora un ingreso reducido. Ellos no pueden a serlo solos, no creo que nadie pueda. Estas donaciones van a ir al tratamiento de mateo, a tratamientos de chemo, medicamentos, estancias en el hospital, y otros gastos inesperados que lleguen a tener. Todas las cantidades ayudan. No importa que sean pequeñas. También pedimos las oraciones para que dios les de fuerza, fortaleza y paz en este tiempo, dios los bendiga.
