Hi. It's Gobs, host of MIDNIGHT LOOMS . A podcast where we celebrate music as art along with our growing community of late-night music lovers.
It's so important to me that we use this show, in every way possible, to help make the world a better place.
A spark has recently ignited the collective consciousness of people all over the world. There's a real fight happening to end systemic racism, defund police, and arrive at equality for all racialized people. This movement is only in its beginning stages and I don't want it to fizzle out. I'm going to use our program to do what we can to push the movement forward, and that means plenty of conversations & encouragement, but words must also be met with actions.
At the heart of the movement is BLACK LIVES MATTER . We, at Midnight Looms, have a surplus of money in our budget because, due to the COVID-19 crisis, we haven't been able to invite musical acts to perform in our studio space. So I've decided to donate that money to BLM, but wanted to do it in a way that encourages our community to also donate, which brings us to this GoFundMe page.
I'm offering MATCHED DONATIONS. That means, whatever you donate, I will also donate, and together, we will send twice as much money to BLM as I could on my own. That's the GOAL!
For each donation sent to this page, I will be sending double the amount to BLACK LIVES MATTER CANADA and posting a screen cap of the receipt for your piece of mind.
