Whilst my amazing team and I are still passionate about matcha the past 6 months have been incredibly challenging due to Covid-19 and lockdown.
In order to support my brilliant team we are embarking on some crowdfunding to support in an effort to see their hopes and dreams come true. Let me introduce you to the wonderful people behind the Matcha and Beyond story:
I am Leah, I have been a professional pastry chef for 6 years and I have been making your much-loved matcha treats for the past two years. My dream is to have my own bakery and given the current circumstances, I would like to open an online bakery first, with the ultimate goal of opening a café or bakery shop in a few years.
To start this new journey, I would need to rent a commercial kitchen and buy some equipment to set up my online shop. Your contribution would help bring my dream a little closer and allow me to do the thing I love the most every day, bake cakes to put a smile your face.

My name is Cristina, you might know me as one of the matcharistas at Matcha and Beyond. Unfortunately, my journey is coming to an end here due to the unsettling circumstances the pandemic. Nevertheless, Olivia will make sure the brand continues to thrive and deliver to you the best matcha experience.
For me, my goal will be to continue my studies in photography and art, by attending the MA of photography course at the RCA. Furthermore, this will allow me to grow and strengthen my skills and my artistry. I would very much appreciate any help to make my dream come true, to become a full-time photographer.

Hi, my name is Kotryna, I am 22 and recently graduated with a BA degree of Sociology with Criminology and my dream was to continue my studies in Australia. However, two years ago I met Olivia, the founder of Matcha and Beyond, who asked me to join the team, and from whom I’ve learned a great deal about business.
Sadly, the pandemic has taken a toll on small businesses like ours. Having said that, it is not the end for Matcha and Beyond as interest in matcha grows and we are currently experiencing a rise in wholesale and online retail. Olivia has offered me a role to continue working with her and help achieve her goals. As matcha has become one of my biggest passions, I hope I will be able to continue my journey with Matcha and Beyond. To do so, I will need to complete a digital marketing course and am asking for your support with this. Maybe in a few years’ time, I will have the honour of introducing our matcha to Australian cafes.
Dear matcha lovers, I know you share my sadness with the recent news of Matcha and Beyond closing its doors ... however, I believe that this will not be the end, just a bump in the road.
That said, I would like to tell you a little about myself, the person behind the bar preparing your delicious matcha drinks. My name is Cristhian, although many of you probably know me as "the boy with very long curly hair", I am 25 and I have been living in London since 2012. Originally from Tenerife, my passion is to travel the world and meet amazing people, hence why I chose to work in the hospitality industry. My secret dream would be to become an accredited English teacher and travel the world, whilst teaching English and Spanish.
I came across the CELTA certified course in Cambridge, which is an accreditation recognised all over the world. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide in favour of fulfilling my dreams.

I am Marina, I’ve passionately run the Matcha and Beyond cafe on the King's Road for almost 2 years.
As a tea enthusiast, Matcha and Beyond has become my second home and I’ve loved being a part of it. Whilst our little green door will be closing soon, all hopes are not yet lost.
I am looking forward to joining forces with Olivia to continue working on our wholesale and e-commerce side of the business. My goal is to spread the matcha love to other hospitality businesses, as I strongly believe Matcha and Beyond has great potential.
