The Cincinnati Soap Box Derby has been offering kids a chance to experience gravity racing since 1934.

The Cincinnati Derby is a FREE youth racing program open to any child at least 7 years of age and up to 17 years old. Children compete by driving their racers in one of two levels of gravity-powered racing cars built from kits purchased from the All-American Soap Box Derby. Don’t have a Derby car? No need to worry, we have plenty to borrow.

In 2025, we crowned two Cincinnati champions who move on to represent Cincinnati in the week-long All-American Soap Box Derby that takes place in Akron, Ohio, in July.

Our drivers come from all over Greater Cincinnati—from many different backgrounds and situations. This year, our champion driver’s family needs some assistance to get to Akron. We are asking for your help to get them there and compete.

Racing in the world finals is a dream come true—and a result of months of hard work, determination, and a love for learning how things work. But now, we need your help to cross the finish line—not just on the track, but in getting there at all.

Your donation will support our driver’s basic needs:

• Travel to Akron, Ohio

• Lodging during race week

• All meals during their stay
