Thank you for being here! If you’re here, you likely already know of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Colombia on August 10th. Our friends Match and Herbert are living in Pereira, Colombia which was hit very hard, and many people are reaching out to ask “how can I help?”. So here’s the tea.

Match and Herbert's apartment (which they bought only a year ago) suffered severe damage from the earthquake. They have been camping out with their neighbors and their two dogs the last several days, and they just found out that the 8 buildings in their apartment complex will be demolished.

For now, they're bouncing back and forth between camping and staying with a community member until a plan for housing comes together. They’re accepting monetary donations to help with their own housing needs, and the rest will go to trusted community members to buy material aid as needed. The monetary goal here may change, as needs continue to reveal themselves.

I'm Sarah, and I live/roast coffee in Jacksonville, FL. Match is my very best friend, and we’re setting this up together. We met in 2023 through the coffee biz, and I cannot describe how thankful I am that their family is safe.

Grieving in community is much easier than grieving alone. Let’s have their backs on this so their family can hopefully breathe a little easier, and can continue to contribute to their community however the needs arise, the way they naturally do.
