Hi, cześć, hallo,
we are Lisa, Lukasz, Marcin, Pawel, and Natalie, and we're all 4th-year TV students at Edinburgh Napier University and we are raising funds to finance our final project - a film called Maszed.

THE PLOT:
After travelling the world as a fashion and portrait photographer, Tomasz returns to Edinburgh, where he spent his teenage years. The memories of those days are anything but happy, since he was bullied extensively for being an immigrant from Poland. Unfortunately, he can’t escape his past and ends up having to work with one of his abusers, which seems like the perfect opportunity for revenge.

THE WORLD:
Tomasz returns to Edinburgh after escaping the city and the bad memories that come with it. Now, two decades later, his parents, who still live in the town, are elderly, and he wants to be close to them. So he decides to open a photo studio in town and stop his travels for a while. But Tomasz needs an interior designer to help him turn the old building he acquired into a workspace. Unfortunately, the company he chooses has hired one of his former abusers: Shelley!
She deeply regrets her actions and has tried to make amends - with anyone but Tomasz.
Since she walks the straight and narrow now and doesn’t want to disappoint her employers, Shelley agrees to work with Tomasz, no matter how uncomfortable the situation makes her. Tomasz smells the perfect opportunity for payback and tries to make this job as miserable as possible for her. The old wounds are deep and not easily forgotten.

The story asks the question of whether horrific deeds done to us – such as racist abuse – are forgivable. Can we forgive those who did those things to us, and is it possible for people to change? And, if they do change, can the perpetrators ever forgive themselves?

Considering the current climate in the UK and many other places across the world we think that a film such as ours, is more important than ever.
Often films about racism show the side of the perpetrators but rarely do they dive into the consequences for the victims, which felt important to us.

With your donation we will be able to pay for actors, locations, costumes, catering, transport and many other things we will need in order to do this subject justice.
