Hello, friends and family. My name is Jesse Rojas, and although some of you know our story, I'll share it here in short form.
On November 10th, 2019, we lost our only child (Miguel) to a drug overdose. The pills he took were laced with fentanyl, and they took his life. Miguel's story is a long one, and it's difficult to tell it in brief words, but I'll try here… Back in 2010/2011, we had to do more to save Miguel's life than he was (unknowingly) doing to destroy it. After much desperation and prayer, we found Master's Ranch in Missouri. This ministry is dedicated not only to leaving a better planet for our kids, but—primarily, leaving better kids for our planet. Miguel got saved out there. My wife Rachel and I felt a calling to go back out there, and so we did, and just returned to CA. The trip was cathartic to say the least…
As an electrician, and Rachel being a teacher and currently on summer break, we were able to donate our time and expense do some work out there. We shared our testimony, and heard some of theirs— some of them individually and privately. HEAVY. STUFF.
We felt such indescribable peace out there, and based on what some of the kids (mostly orphans) shared, it was amazing that we "clicked" with the kids; apparently that isn't a common thing.
Not sure when, but we WILL be going back soon; God is doing some amazing work out there, and we can't wait to return. Some of the staff that was there has been there since- or even before Miguel was there about 11 years ago! Some of them went through the program with Miguel! One of the things that I was able to do out there is run power for a second oven in the younger boy's home (picture attached).
However, someone had donated an older oven, and unfortunately, it vents to the back , and won't work in their kitchen. They are in great need of a proper oven, and quickly. In addition, two of the buildings that Master's Ranch is using are dedicated to carpentry and welding. There is a great need there as well, in terms of electrical upgrades (pictures to follow). Master's Ranch is changing families' lives, for God's glory. Brothers, sister, friends… please pray on this and consider donating to this cause. I can't wait to go back there and continue to pay it forward! With heartfelt gratitude, and to God be the glory.
P.S. Every penny will go towards paying for the needed oven and the Ministry's other electrical needs. Everything Rachel and I have done (and will do) out there is pro bono.
