Healing Ceremony for Hau Thi Long

Hello ZB Community,

It’s Karen Senffner here asking for your contributions for a special gift for Hau Thi Long as she transitions from her physical form. Her health is in decline.

In a recent message from Caring Bridge, her DPOA describes:

Hau is entering the final month of her life--she is losing weight while her legs are now more bloated than ever; she is on a pureed diet because she forgets to swallow and there is concern that she will aspirate; she is sleeping more and has much less energy to engage with visitors (although she definitely knows you are there and will sometimes respond with a smile or hand pressure).

The doctor has made new orders to give her morphine now whenever she complains of pain to keep her comfortable. I encourage you to share this news with your families and friends and tell them that if they wish to visit, now is the time. Elsa says that the last part goes quickly, so it's only a matter of weeks before she will be in bed and slipping away.

I'm sorry to have to share this news, but we all knew that it would be about 6 months...and the estimate is right on track.
