Donation protected
Master Lu Yi was passionate about and dedicated his life to the circus arts. He had an exceptional career as a performer and later the director for the Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe, going on also to be Vice President of the Chinese Acrobatic Association. His career was marked by technical and artistic innovation that forever changed contemporary circus. In 1990, he brought his two daughters, Lu Na and Lu Yue, and later his wife to San Francisco where he worked with Pickle Family Circus and taught for the school that eventually became Circus Center. Many of his students give credit to his influence in launching their careers and many more learned technical skills but also life lessons from him. Although he retired in 2016, his legacy lives on in many generations of students that he has impacted.
Master Lu Yi passed away on October 25th. Donations to this fundraiser will go directly to the family to help with funeral/memorial expenses. Anything additional will go to supporting his wife, Wang Hong Zhu.
