SGM Joon P Choi Memorial Fund

In memory of our beloved Supreme Grand Master Joon Pyo Choi, we will be celebrating his life with a memorial service and viewing this Friday & Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting contributions via Go Fund Me to pay towards funeral expenses and contributions to his beloved Oriental Martial Arts College.

 

On Monday, September 13, 2021, our beloved Supreme Grand Master Joon Pyo Choi, loving husband, father of 3 children, '88 US Olympic team coach, instructor, mentor, & friend to many has left this world to join our Heavenly Father.

 

Born on 11/27/1946 in a war-torn Korea, he mastered and brought his love of Martial Arts to the US in 1971 with $25 in his pocket, not knowing any English, he set out with a big dream to share his love of Martial Arts and to spread his vision "of a place where kids grow up happy and healthy, the young become wise and strong, and the old can enjoy peace and harmony". Through his vision and tenets of the Moo Gong Ryu system of Martial Arts that he created, over 25,000 students across the globe have been impacted for the better.

 

He is survived by his wife, Young Ja, his children, Jee-Young, Moo-Sung, Moo-Hyun, Anna, grandchildren, Makayla, Aria, Clara, Kai and siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends and students.
