Mason Wilhelm, Shared Roots Community Garden
Donation protected
Hi,
We are the Wilhelm family.
We lost our sweet Mason to suicide, on September 6, 2023.
Mason was a visionary. A Renaissance Man. A lover of all people. He never judged. He was a deep thinker and truly seemed to be able to tap into another realm of consciousness.
He saw infinite beauty in every plant, animal, insect, sunrise, sunset, and person he encountered.
Mason imagined a better world, a healthier world. Where we could put our phones down and look into eachother instead. Mason wanted to grow nourishing foods as well as nourishing habits and an overall healthier system to be a part of.
Mason so deeply felt an urgency to find a way to unite people. He found his purpose through his plan of a community garden. Mason dreamed of his garden being a home-base, a foundation for something grand and large. Abundance of fruit, vegetables, herbs, and spices. But most importantly, community. Bringing people together was so important to Mason. He wanted to teach you all. Teach the world that there is a different way. That it is ok to break the worldly mold. That the systems we have been brought up in were not built with love as the foundation, and we can tear them down and build our own. He was a leader. He was so wise.
Mason loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved so big.
Mason was a sponge. He could read something once and remember it. His mind was an amazing wonder. His musical skills, people skills, cooking skills and gardening skills were unsurpassed. But, unfortunately, even those brilliant minds have their weaknesses and struggles. Sadly, Mason lost his battle with depression. But we can not allow his his dream, to heal this world to be lost.
We can carry on a legacy for him of healing and love.
We have to do this for him now.
Our goal as a family is to raise money to carry on caring for his garden. To make sure it is nurtured and cared for in his absence.
Ultimately we would like to expand his garden and teach others how to create small homesteads with whatever space they have available. To teach people the gentle, simple, beautiful way to grow their own food at home.
Mason was a peace bringer.
Please join us in carrying out his dreams for our community and family.
