Masks for relief

In an effort to contribute to the relief towards the COVID19 pandemic, I am creating masks to donate to hospital workers in Brooklyn, New York. I am a recent graduate with a degree in fashion design, and a minor in social practice. Due to the Pandemic, New York City is officially in self-quarantine mode, in which only those with 'essential jobs' are out for work, and those with 'non essential jobs' are encouraged to stay home. This means medical workers, food service workers, delivery, and other federal workers are on the front lines and more at risk.  Those who cannot afford to stay at home are at risk as well. As someone who works in the fashion industry, I am not an essential worker, but I am lucky enough to have the tools needed to assist from home during the pandemic.

I will be sewing re-usable fabric masks based off of two patterns I created to be donated to hospitals. In New York City, hospitals are overwhelmed with patients and there is a lack of supplies needed to provide proper care for patients. Medical professionals are running low on masks. I am raising money for the materials, & resources needed to make as many masks as I possibly can. I am a team of 1 based in Brooklyn, and I will have to order fabric online from store that are located in the garment district in Manhattan. I will also be gifting donators with prints of my illustrations as a thank you. 100% of the proceeds are going towards the relief efforts!
