All of us are aware of the impact of Coronavirus and it is getting more local each day. Morristown Medical Center, like many facilities across the country, is short of the supplies they desperately need; more beds are filling daily with COVID patients and the need continues to grow. Our fundraiser is raising money to purchase much needed N95/KN95 - surgical grade masks, as well as other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the hospital in an effort to protect the front line doctors and nurses, and hopefully limit the spread of this terrible virus.
So far, we have delivered thousands of KN95-type masks and surgical masks, and hundreds of locally-produced face shields. The hospital is still in desperate need of masks. We are in direct contact with doctors, nurses and administration to procure exactly what is needed most.
We blew by our initial $10,000 goal, then surpassed $20,000, $30,000 & $40,000 so we are upping the goal to $50,000 as the need is only GROWING. God willing we can do our part to protect those working to save lives on the front line as we battle this terrible illness. We just placed our largest order to date for more than 5,000 NIOSH-certified N95 masks. Every dollar that is donated (excluding the fees from GoFundMe) is going directly to purchase PPE.
The Gulish Group pledged to match the first $2,500 of donations in an effort to jump start this much needed effort. Since then, countless other friends, colleagues, business owners, real estate agents, and complete strangers have donated tens of thousands of dollars. We are humbled.
We are incredibly thankful of the response this has gotten. We are getting a flood of thank yous from nurses, doctors and staff expressing how incredibly thankful they are for your support. Lastly, a huge thanks to friend and neighbor, Mike Morris and www.durabrite.com for making this happen. He and his team have worked hundreds of hours for free to get this done for those in need.
