Because of your generosity, we’ve given thousands of panties to girls in Uganda so they can manage menstruation and stay in school. While we will continue giving panties, COVID-19 is challenging us to expand our focus.

80% of health care workers in the US are women. Their most basic need is medical grade masks. Without sufficient masks, health care workers will fall sick alongside their patients, which will extend shelter in place timelines and increase the infection rate and death toll. Could something as simple as a mask save lives? Yes.

Here's what we know: Every mask has its place.

While the general public can use make-shift or lower quality masks, the masks most fit to keep our health care workers safe and healthy are N95 or KN95. These masks are medical grade, include filters, and are FDA approved and CE certified and tested. 

In the midst of a global pandemic, Khana will continue to do what it has always done—meet basic female needs. In addition to panties for Uganda, we’re adding masks for the US.
