Masks for McLaren

Sobstad Sails, Purveu LLC, and Freedom Sailing Tours are teaming up to quickly create 500 medical masks for McLaren hospitals. As of this morning, MacLaren Oakland only had 20 N95 surgical masks available for doctors, nurses, medical staff and patients to use. While we are not creating N95 compliant masks, McLaren has confirmed that they will use homemade masks similar to the one pictured above over the top of existing masks as they are also out of carbon filters for the N95 masks. The need for these masks is immediate, and the situation is only getting worse by the minute as the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak spreads. Purveu, LLC has donated the funds and purchased the materials needed to make these masks. Sobstad Sails has generously provided their facility and sewing equipment to make these masks, though we're finding smaller, home machines are more suited for making masks than larger machines made to sew large swaths of canvas. We are working with McLaren to get these masks made, sanitized, and used in their supply chain ASAP. Proceeds with help cover the costs of the materials to create these masks.

Brian is friends with a director at the McLaren Macomb County Foundation in Macomb County, Michigan.

4. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible):
The funds will be used to pay for materials, tools, and supplies purchased to create emergency cloth masks for the McLaren hospital system in Michigan.
