Update: We are now contributing masks to Auntie Sewing Squad efforts along with other local groups. Members send masks to vulnerable populations, such as migrant farm workers, detainees at the border, First Nations, BIPOC and youth community groups, LGBQT communities and many other forgotten people. We really need funds for postage and supplies. And we could also use fabric or sheets to make masks.

We have started making masks for healthcare and essential workers. Hospitals are asking for donations and we also know a lot of doctors, nurses and essential workers who need protection. We have donated our own materials and purchased filter materials, but we need more supplies, such as fabric, elastic and wire! Please help!
Mask donations made thus far: The Navajo Nation, Youth Consultation Services, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Saint Peter's Healthcare System, Atlantic Health System, nurses at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Jefferson Hospital (Philadelphia) and Princeton Medical Center, six private doctors' and veterinarian offices, a cancer infusion center, a senior residential living facility, numerous at risk and elderly individuals, employees at a pharmacy, a supermarket, restaurants, etc.
We need the following materials. If you have any and can donate it, we would put it to good use or we will purchase it.
* tightly woven fabric made from 100% cotton, such as good quality quilting cotton, flannel, broadcloth, decorating fabrics.
* 1/8 inch or beading elastic for ear loops
* 1/4-1/2 inch cotton twill tape or ribbon
* metal wire, such as phone wire or #16-20 gauge solid copper wire
* file folder prong fasteners.
* Filti filtering fabric
* auto shop towels (Zep, Toolbox or Scott Heavy Duty/Pro)
We are making two types of masks:
The first is a contoured mask with a filter pocket and wire for nose bridge, with either ties or elastic ear loops.
