Welcome friends to what I call "Haircare with a Cause
First off, there are a few things you should know about me as they define who I am and why I am here:
-I am a hairstylist in NYC.
-I have lived in NYC for over 13 years.
-I grew up in a modest, rural town in Washington state.
-I love all forms of gender expression (masc, fem, in between, none, etc.) and enjoy bringing humor to the roles other people WISH we would play.
-I have been sober from drugs and alcohol for nearly a decade (This will come into play a few paragraphs down).
-I've been very fortunate to have a line of hair products called Parlor by Jeff Chastain
So what am I doing?
I am launching a head to toe, tongue-in-cheek sexy men's grooming line called MASC by Jeff Chastain
. Hair, face, beard and body.. all covered.
You just worked out and have 15 minutes to shower and get ready. Lets defunk you then get you primped for some action (or maybe you just wanna look good while you work 14 hour NYC workdays).
Currently the product line consists of :-MANSPRAY
full body lotion spray-CREAMED
face and beard lotion-ROUGHTRADE
hair and beard sculpting paste-JUNKWASH
conditioning wash for your junk-GLORYHOLD
light hold hairspray-MORNINGWOOD
hair and beard cleansing conditioner
-Fun tanks, Tshirts, and baseball shirts
with the product names and logos
tote bag to show off your MASC side (with a purse)
And the best part? 50% of all MASC
grooming product profit goes to charities and funds helping the LGBT community
recover from drug and alcohol addiction (alas, why I mentioned my sobriety above).
Sobriety and the recovery process afterwards allowed me to grow spiritually, connect with people from all walks of life, help myself by helping others, and
build the life I now know I deserve. Funding programs and working with addiction recovery centers and sober living houses will not only give people struggling a better chance at sobriety but also the ability to focus on the next steps in life. Schools, job training, and moving into safe housing are things most of us take for granted.
Take a look at an interview with Outlook Ohio I did recently about my inspirations for MASC. http://outlookohio.com/2017/01/jeff-chastain-hairstylist-philanthropist-proudly-sober-hottie/
Here are just a few organizations I hope to build bridges with:
I believe through the success of MASC by Jeff Chastain, we can not only look great, but we can feel great knowing we are doing the right thing for our LGBT family.
Stronger Together ;) Jeff Chastain
