Memorial fund for Mary Morgan

Update: My mother passed away peacefully this morning with me and my sister holding her hands. She put up a hell of a fight. She is the strongest & the bravest person I’ll ever know. No more pain or suffering mama, until I see you again.. Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and all the donations .

My name is Miranda, I am Mary’s youngest daughter. Today I am writing this story with tears in my eyes. On December 24th  my mom was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. A cancer that is very difficult to treat and is not curable. None of us had any idea. She had broken her femur on the way into her grandsons 3rd birthday. From there things have gotten worse. In January she was transferred from the hospital to a rehab facility to attempt to build strength to come home and spend the remaining time with us, her children and grandchildren. We tried a round of chemo to help prolong life but it made her very sick and was causing excessive bleeding so we had to stop. On Feb 7th she was re admitted to the hospital. She was having issues with her right shoulder and is now unable to use that arm. On February 28th the hardware holding her femur together failed and she had to go through yet another very painful surgery to repair that leg and remove all the hardware they used originally. Sunday March 1st they did testing and found moms cancer had spread again but this time to her head and neck. They went in a did another surgical procedure to her face. Since Sunday things have progressively gotten worse. She is now not able to communicate her wants and needs, she is even having trouble recognizing her own children. The cancer has is pretty much affecting her entire body liver, femur, spine, shoulder, head & neck.

Today we sit with the doctors and a palliative care team to discuss Moms end of life plan and hospice. This is going to be a very tough day for us all, as she has been though so so much in just a short two months.

As hard as it is to write this me and my sisters are asking for any help possible as we prepare for the tough days that are ahead. I am expecting a new baby any day and will be out of work for a while, As you all know funeral expenses are hard, especially with such short notice we haven’t even had time to process her being sick before we got the news that at the young age of 60 we will soon have to say goodbye to our mother. Every donation collected will be used for the costs associated with her funeral and burial. If you are unable to donate please share. Thank you so much.
