Mary's Mega Glioblastoma Battle
Donation protected
Mary, my mom, has always been fiercely indepenpent, my biggest fan, loving and kind, and supported me through low points and high points. She loves her grandson to pieces and now her great granddaughter just as much. As long as I can remember no matter what life revealed to her she has approached everything with a quiet strength that I've yet to come across in anyone else. In numbers, we are not a big family, but Mary, her grandson Carlos, and I (Tanya) have a bond that is impossible to break (a trifecta or sorts).

Needless to say what comes next practically shook our foundation.
The morning of November 18, 2016 I found my mom at her home in her bed unable able to move or speak! She was rushed to the hospital and they decovered a mass in the left frontal lobe. Surgery was done the next day, November 19, 2016. Everything happened so fast and hit with such force that the shock and devestation florred us completely. We did not get a final diagnosis until the beginning of December 2016, that is when we heard the unthinkable Glioblastoma Multeforme Grade 4. The most aggressive brain cancer imaginable.
My mom, had brain mapping 1/4/2017 for radiation treatment coupled with chemo. Both are slated to start 1/25/2017. Her battle is just beginning, I don't know what to expect, and I am terrified. It is my turn to learn quiet strength.

Anyone that has ever known my mom knows she is a cerebral being. She retired from University Berkeley's I.T. systems department, she would read a book a day (sometimes two), she is always learning and searching for knowledge, enjoys meanful conversations and the exchange of different points of view. A huge music lover as well as trained in piano and cello.
So, to get to the point, this gofundme account it to raise money for medical expenses, alternative treatments, in-home care, and anything my mom may want or need to make her happy. It boils down to quality of life and fighting to to make sure she has access to treatment and care that will help.
I would like anyone that might come across this, to first please send your prayers for my mom, however you pray please please do so. If you are able to help we will be forever grateful.
