Third Time's a Charm- Mary Jo

Donation protected
In 2012, Mary Jo's life was changed when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After several hospital stays, numerous treatments and procedures, and countless prayers, Mary Jo was given the all-clear to undergo a colostomy reversal in July. During surgery, it was discovered that being "cancer free" was unfortunately short-lived, and more cancerous tumors had been found. Mary Jo is now recovering and gearing up to fight for the third time.

Mary Jo is the definition of an inspiration and her spirit brings others hope. She spent several years as a local youth minister where her impact was felt throughout the community. Mary Jo led several trips to Diocesan Youth Leadership Camp in Lansing, Salem Housing project in Flint, annual retreats, and CROP Hunger Walk, to name a few. She currently serves as a Community Liaison at Covenant House where she works with homeless youth. She has made a lasting impression on the hundreds of people that have had the opportunity to spend time with her in any capacity.

Although Mary Jo has continued to work, intern at Starfish Family Services and pursue her Master of Social Work degree, all while receiving chemotherapy, her medical bills continue to pile up. It's her turn to receive the support she has given so many. Thank you for considering a contribution.
