Maryann’s Road to Recovery...love, live and laugh

As most of you know, last week our darling Maryann aka “May” was taken to the ER with a severe thundercloud headache and possible stroke symptoms.  Thanks to her quick thinking daughter Hailey and the first responders, she made it to the hospital in time for diagnosis and urgent care.  The initial testing showed pressure building around her brain and subsequently revealed a brain aneurysm.

She has undergone two brain procedures, first to release the pressure off of the brain, and then second to place a “flow diverter” to aide in healing and to prevent a rupture. 

She is currently recovering in the ICU under the amazing care of the UPMC Hamot Doctors and Nurses.  As a Nurse herself, May is extremely grateful for the care she is receiving.  

Of course, all of this outstanding and long term comes with a cost.  Many wonderful and thoughtful people have asked how they can help.  Maryann, being a very proud and independent woman would never ask for anything; therefore, we have created this account on her behalf.
