Hi, this is my daughter Maryann and she is 11 years old. Unfortunately Maryann experienced as well as witnessed domestic abuse 5 years ago which lasted 3 years. I didn’t know about it until the damage was already done.
Myself and her Dad (ex husband) having been working together to try and get her therapy over the years but the waiting lists are far too long. It’s now got to the point where Maryann is struggling with her anxiety and showing signs of PTSD.
Her GP has now agreed to support us to get Maryann the help she needs but again it’s a waiting game. Maryann’s secondary school are willing to help with giving her pastoral care but myself and my partner really want to start her healing process now.
Maryann has always loved nature, growing flowers, helping the environment as well as learning about agriculture.
As we live in a flat we only have access to a
communal garden to which we can’t put our mark on it. So after doing some research and contacting members from Maidstone Allotment Community; Maryann is now the proud owner of a small allotment.
The last things we need is:-
*Fencing stakes
*Metal fencing
*Weed membrane with pegs
*Chippings
*Half whiskey barrels for planters
Maryann does have access to water on site, as well a lovely little shop, wheel barrows as well as other things she may need.
What Maryann is so happy about is that our support dog and I can be there to as well as the allotment community are so friendly and welcoming.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you can afford a little bit to help us that would be amazing.
Best Wishes From
Maryann and her family
