On July 23rd of 2019 three days before her 54th , Maryanne Savino was diagnosed with a Sarcoma ( A rare type of cancer that grows in connective tissue like bones , nerves , muscles , tendons , cartilage and blood vessels ). Over a decade ago she had the same diagnosis and battled this monstrous disease and beat it , now she faces the same battle again.
She confided this terrible news to me while I was making plans to travel home to spend time with her at the beach for Septembers local summer. These plans have changed due to her surgery date , which like this cancer , its treatment and recovery are uncertain.
The first round of treatment was very aggressive consisting of high levels of chemotherapy followed by a scan to determine if it was operable , sadly it was not. So Maryanne is currently undergoing more rounds of chemotherapy followed by another scan in December. Keep in mind she is not tolerating this treatment well. Sometimes she has no one to accompany her to these treatments. For those of you that have made the time to go with her and have given yourself unselfishly I can not praise and thank you enough. For it is you that are the true humanitarians.
Maryanne applied for temporary disability insurance and was denied. I have contacted some people to reach out to Maryanne for help , asking them to reach out to her and offer emotional support just to be there and take her to appointments and offer whatever financial help they could give. This plea fell on deaf ears , except for a couple of family members who did what they could , again THANK YOU.
At that point Maryanne felt abandoned and isolated , which she is. She has always been a kind , loving and supportive soul who is not able to process this form of emptiness she is feeling. She has also been very independent and really doesn't know how to ask for help , so I am asking for her.
She is self employed but at this time and for the unforeseen future not able to work. She had a small amount of money saved to pay her living expensive for the last four months , but is worried about being able to do this now and up until after the surgery and the healing process , which hasn't been determined yet.
I am IMPLORING your help to clear her mind so she can focus all her strength on her process . Any amount you give as often as you can will be greatly appreciated beyond the measurement of words. I have created this as a fund raising platform and your thoughts and prayers are also appreciated , but I must ask at this time please do not overwhelm Maryanne  with text message's as these treatments have totality drained her.
