Mary's Magnificent Heart

This is Mary Finn. Mary is an extraordinary women, with an extraordinary family, facing an extraordinarily difficult medical situation. She is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, nurse, clinical specialist, friend and so much more to so many. She is the ultimate giver, the caretaker of all and the first to volunteer no matter what the need. Her determination is second to none. She has an unbreakable spirit that is sweet to all who know and love her. She is fighting the battle of her life.

In May, shortly after reaching her 5 year cancer free anniversary, Mary was diagnosed with malignant cardiac tumors for the second time.  She is also a breast cancer survivor and is determined to beat this horrific disease yet again. She  has had to be out of work since May for treatment at one of only two locations in the country that provide the care she needs. This has required a prolonged stay away from her home and a large portion of her family including some of  her beloved children and grandchildren. The treatment plan has included inpatient rounds of chemotherapy, transfusions, treatments  and multiple tests with the ultimate goal being another cardiac surgery for removal of the tumors. Family members have rotated weekly shifts traveling to provide the care that Mary needs at this time.

In addition to the customary medical bills that are associated with such care, relocation for treatment has added an extra burden of travel cost. It is our desire to provide some financial relief by establishing this page it hopes that it is the answer to the most asked question, what can we do to help?  If you have asked yourself this question, please consider a donation or share with someone you think may feel led to donate.

All funds collected will be used towards travel from Mary’s home in Baltimore to Texas for treatment (and for those caring for her). Funds will also be used for medical bills for treatment, infusions, tests, hospital stays and parking at the Texas Medical center. Please also know that Mary’s finances, including these donations, are being managed by Betsy Kulp, one of Mary’s daughters.
