Hi, my name is Hazel. I am a close friend and supporter of Mary-Elizabeth, fondly known by many as the 'Bay Explorer'. If you don't know her, she is a well accomplished educator, children's book writer, mother to many children of the community, and an all around selfless person that gives swifter than she is often willing to recieve.

This weekend, after leaving a community festival in Oakland, her vehicle which is her daily driver and transportation for her family and her homeschool/daycare children was immobilized by the stripping of her its ignition. This unfortunate event set her back immensely: financially and changing the trajectory of personal and professional plans. In the event of this, she still couldn't bring herself to ask for a lending hand.

As someone that knows how intentional, empathetic and caring she is, I wanted to initiate this fund as an extension or olive branch to the community we share in hopes she gets the support she needs that she so freely gives.
