Mary Pat Colicchio Scholarship Fund for SHS

Donation protected
In August of 2018 Mrs. Mary Pat Colicchio passed away from Pancreatic Cancer after an 11 month battle. Mrs. Colicchio taught Social Studies at Summit High School since 2001 and touched the lives of thousands of students throughout her long teaching career. Her love of democracy, kindness, freedom, and supporting others ruminated throughout her classroom.

In addition to her love of teaching history, she also made sure everyone who walked into her classroom was heard and felt loved. She made sure that no matter the obstacles students face both in and outside the classroom, they left feeling supported and successful. For her, school was much more than learning, it was a place to find your voice.

Her family is starting this scholarship in her honor, in the hopes that her strong legacy will impact the students of her beloved SHS for years to come. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student that possess the characteristics of kindness, determination and inclusiveness that made Mrs. Colicchio such a unique educator.

She was proud of her Irish-American heritage, so please honor her on St. Patrick's Day by wearing a ribbon to which all proceeds will go towards this scholarship. Thank you for being  a part of her legacy.

With Love and Gratitude,
The Colicchio Family
