Mary Myers Obenauf - Stage 4 Lung Cancer

Mary Myers Obenauf is originally from Americus, GA and a graduate of UGA. Mary moved to California in the early 1980s where she taught disadvantaged children in southern California. After retiring from education, she relocated to Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, returning to her hometown of Americus in 2016. In January 2022, Mary was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and has undergone numerous treatments, but recently discontinued those treatments and is now under the care of hospice, which requires 24/7 assistance. However, hospice does not provide for all of the expenses. To that end, Mary has minimal income sources and is now relying on a small group of friends to assist in the funding for her ongoing medical needs and sitter care. Throughout her life, Mary has been known as a giving person and always puts others ahead of her own needs; now, she needs financial assistance from others.
