My mother, Mary Lemon, is a devoted wife, mother, and Occupational Therapy Assistant who loves to laugh, spend time with her dogs, and care for others.

She has committed her life to doing for others - friends, family, residents at the local nursing home, and anyone she meets that might need an open mind, ear, or heart.

On September 23rd, 2016, at age 55, Mary was rushed to the hospital where an MRI revealed a tennis ball-sized mass on her brain. On September 26th, she underwent a craniotomy and the mass was confirmed to be a Glioblastoma grade IV - a very aggressive form of brain cancer. After two weeks in the hospital, she was sent home on October 7th. Since being admitted to the hospital, she has been unable to work. While she has (finally!!) started chemotherapy and radiation treatments, it is still unclear when she will be released back to work, or what may lie ahead. Expenses, medical and otherwise, continue to pile up, and I worry for my parents' future as they work to battle this diagnosis. 

We are currently in the process of setting up a benefit to raise funds for the family, but many of my mother's friends and family are not from the area, so it has been suggested to me that I set up this page as an alternative for those that would like to help, but will be unable to attend the event on December 10th.

All proceeds will go towards allowing my parents to cover medical expenses and other bills so that my mom can focus on healing, and my father can focus on being there for my mom in her time of need.

While my family is not entirely comfortable with the prospect of asking of others, we have all agreed that this is what we need to do at this time. I have set a very lofty goal - which I definitely do not expect to meet - but every little bit counts during difficult times! The support that can be, and has been, offered, monetary and otherwise, means the world to my family.
