Mary Large's cancer is now untreatable

My name is Linda Bortell and I have known Dr. Mary Large since graduate school. It was definitely her wicked sense of humor and sarcasm that made us fast friends. She is an excellent neuropsychologist and an excellent mom. Her two daughters (a junior in high school and a sophomore in college) mean everything to her. She always structured her work day around being there for her girls. Their bond is so incredible and strong. 5 years ago, at a routine doctor's appointment, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and plasma cell leukemia - rare and deadly cancers. She immediately went into the hospital for a 4 day continuous chemo and has repeated that at least 5 times. In 2017 she underwent a stem cell transplant - which kept the cancer in remission until November 2021. At that point it came back strong and hard. She got on the list for Car-T - which she was approved for in December. On Jan 12, 2022 her T cells were extracted and sent to a lab to be genetically modified to multiply and attack her cancer. March 3, 2022 she had the T cells infused and the plasma cysts on her body began to shrink and go away. It was working! On April 4, her oncologist reported that he was unable to detect any cancer in her body! She was back to work and thinking she had more time. May 9 she was at an appointment and was told that the cancer came roaring back and there was no further treatments available. Her blood counts were too low to qualify for any clinical trials and too low for chemo. She was told that she had weeks left to live. A nightmare of a rollercoaster to go from cancer free on April 4 to weeks to live on May 9. Please help Mary and her girls. She has so many medical bills and end of life expenses that will be coming up. All money donated will go to the Mary Large Revocable Trust. Please please help my friend and ease her mind financially during this horrifying time.
