Hi, I am Mary Jean Robertson. I am a volunteer programmer on KPOO radio, and I have been producing the Native American show called "Voices of the Native Nations" for over fifty years. I am a Cherokee citizen from California, and I have never been able to travel to my original homeland. This year, the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums is holding their annual conference in Cherokee, North Carolina. I have dedicated my life to making sure that Native voices are accessible on the radio, and I would love to be sure that the recordings made for the last 50 years are available in an archive. Help me visit my original homeland and attend this conference.
My cousin lives in Raleigh, and he will pick me up from the airport. The conference and special events cost $500 to $600. The flight costs $600 to $700 (fees for luggage TBD). If my cousin can, he will try to take me to Cherokee, NC; otherwise, I will have to rent a car and pay for gas.
