Mary & Jake's Home

In the middle of the night of August 1, Mary and Jake woke up to the sound of flames outside their window. After waking their downstairs neighbors, they narrowly escaped safely before the fire spread. Their home is destroyed, and the loss is devastating.

As they sort through the remains of their belongings and determine the next steps towards rebuilding their lives, please consider donating to help Mary and Jake recover.

No matter what you can give, the love and outpouring of messages are both beyond appreciated and heartfully received. While the loss has been overwhelming, their gratitude is even more so.

Additionally, they requested it be known that they feel very uncomfortable with launching a fund and especially with deciding a number. There is no "goal amount" for Mary and Jake -- their belongings and home cannot be quantified with a dollar amount, nor do they want to try. They appreciate any and all help. Anything you can give will be valued and put to use.

Jake and Mary have spent the past 6 months pouring their hearts into the construction of a recording studio with plans to support their growing and already vibrant artist community. This is their livelihood and career.

Fortunately, the studio itself is safe from the fire. But during construction, they were storing many 10s of thousands of dollars of music equipment that they’ve collected over their lives, much of which is rare and irreplaceable. Besides their photos, memories, childhood belongings, heirlooms, clothes, etc., this was a major consideration in starting this fund.
