Mary Fehr / Charansev Recovery Fund

Mary Fehr, also known by her spiritual name Charansev, is Director of Communications at Unity of Houston and a beloved kundalini yoga instructor at Yoga Central of Houston.  While participating in a week-long yoga and meditation retreat in the mountains of New Mexico, a freak accident occurred.  A 'dust devil' which is a tornado in the desert, suddenly appeared and collapsed the dining tent in which Mary was sitting.  The dining tent was a very large tent capable of seating hundreds at a time for each meal.  When this tent was hit by the dust devil, it was pulled up off the ground and the heavy support beams, long stakes, and numerous tables and chairs went flying around. Something hit Mary in the melee and broke both of her legs.  Her husband, Dennis, flew to Espanola the next morning to be with her and is there with her now.

Mary had surgery on both legs at the hospital in Espanola on Sunday, June 23.  Arrangements are currently being made to fly her back to Houston where she will initially be staying at a rehab center until she is able to return to her home.

We know she is strong physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and her body is healing.  Her recovery will require extensive physical therapy and she will be out of work for an undetermined period of time.  This campaign is to help cover the medical expenses that are not covered by insurance and to help her, quite literally, get back up on her feet again.
