Mary Davis recovery fund
Donation protected

Mary Davis is a vibrant, full of life, active person who has been fighting for her life in the last several weeks. She went to the emergency room 4 weeks ago with symptoms of a small bowel obstruction, which unfortunately wasn't the first time. Things took a horrible turn from there. Mary soon had to be rushed into surgery to fix the obstruction and the surgeon found she was septic and things were more complicated then they thought. Overnight she began forming life threatening blood clots from the sepsis, and again was going in for emergency surgery. By then next morning, after multiple calls from the doctors with more bad news, Mary had half of her small bowel taken out and had no blood flow to her left leg. She was extremely critical and her family was called to the hospital to say their goodbyes.
But Mary wasn't ready to say goodbye! She fought hard and day by day became more stable and eventually was able to come off the ventilator. As excited as her family was to have her back and getting healthier each day, there was still the devastating issue of her leg. From not having blood flow from the clotting issue, her left leg was dying and becoming gangrene. The doctor tried to save as much as possible, but Mary had to have her leg amputated just below her knee. She is still in the hospital and has multiple other health issues and a long recovery ahead of her. But She has proven how strong she is and not ready to give up.
With all of these life altering events that have occurred in the last month, things are going to be very challenging for everyday life. She is still due to have other surgeries down the road and life without her leg may be the biggest challenge of all.
Our goal is to make things as easy as possible for Mary to be able to get back to a time when she can be chasing her 5 grandbabies around again, walking her dog, maybe even riding her bike, or just doing everyday activities with her husband Billy and 2 daughters Jill and Ali and their husbands. Her family has been so fortunate to have been given a second chance with her and we want her to be able to live life to the fullest. With medical expenses, rehab, prosthesis, medical equipment, aides and whatever other challenges may be ahead of them, we're hoping to be able to raise enough money to make it a little less worrisome and challenging so that Mary can just focus on healing. Please help if you can, no donation is too small!
Thank you!
