Those close to the Carta family know that they have had a difficult year. Ron’s father became ill and passed away. The family’s two dogs also became ill and had to be put down. But, the Cartas have continued to be optimistic and fun-loving in the face of sadness and adversity.

As many of you know, Mary has lupus. Last week, she had her second stroke. She was recently discharged from the hospital and admitted into a rehabilitation facility for an unknown amount of time. She will be receiving physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Mary will not be able to go into the salon, as she will still be recovering and she is immunocompromised as it is. Medical fees will accumulate and likely continue to increase.
