Mary Beth’s Journey to Fight!
Donation protected
Hello Everyone!
If you don’t know my baby sister Mary Beth, also known as “MB,” then you are missing out in life! For those of us that do know her, you know that she is literally one of the most kind, loving and beautiful humans on the planet! She is the most amazing mama to her to sweet boys Cooper and Spencer, a devoted and loving wife, a caring friend, a loyal companion to all animals, and an incredible daughter, niece, auntie and sister! I am reaching out today to ask for your prayers, love and support as she is enduring the fight of her life!
In late June this year, she discovered a lump in her breast and went in right away to get it checked. While we prayed it was nothing serious, it turned out to be cancer and she would need surgery to remove the tumor. At the time, all scans looked good, and her prognosis was very positive. In early September, she had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor and although she had some major soreness, she seems to be recovering great.
Just recently, she went in to talk with her surgeon hoping that would be the end of surgery and cancer cells. Unfortunately, the news was not what we had hoped. Her margins still showed positive for cancer and the 2 lymph nodes they removed both had cancer in them. She then had to choose between another lumpectomy which still risked not getting all of the cancer or a mastectomy in order to have a more definitive result. Mary Beth opted for the mastectomy, but this will now be a much more difficult surgery and recovery. This is a heavy weight to carry in addition to all the other concerns, such as bills, kiddos and just overall mental health struggles to stay positive.
While we are still finding ways to kick cancer off this planet, in the meantime, we want to help Mary Beth and her family however we are able. I believe this is why we are here….to help one another in times of need and to support people when they need it the most! Mary Beth has had 2 other unrelated and unexpected surgeries in the last few years, so medical bills are unending in the foreseeable future, and I think we all know how expensive this kind of medical care can be. We would like to take some of the burden off of Mary Beth and her family, which is why we are setting up this page. Mary Beth has a long road ahead of her because after her mastectomy recovery, she will need to endure chemotherapy and radiation, which doctors anticipate will take her out of work for 4-6 months while she recovers.
Anything you can donate would be very much appreciated and if you are not in a position to donate financially, we will take prayers, positive thoughts, get well sentiments and all the love you can send her way! Sharing this post would also be appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any support you can provide MB during this difficult fight! Love you all!
