Mary Ann's Journey to Heaven

Mary Ann, BSN, RN

May 1, 1995  - September 21, 2020

It was Sunday, September 20, 2020, Mary Ann and her siblings, (Sherelyn and Sean) strolled along their Home town’s Hercules Waterfront gazing the Sunset and she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Mary Ann took her last breathe on September 21st at Vallejo Kaiser Hospital 2:25AM , accompanying with her at bedside, her Fiance and best friend of 8 years Alex, Sherelyn(sister), Sean(brother), Camilo(father) and Sally(Mother). According to the Doctors she suffered from an unexpected cause of unexplained chemo-medicine reaction that caused bleeding through her lungs.

Mary Ann has battled a rare cancer Myxoid Liposarcoma (stage 4) ever since 2014 and she has been a resilient fighter. Unfortunately, not every battle could be won and Mary Ann has put up through a lot but continued to put a smile on her face. Our hearts shattered as we heard the doctor tell our family that she is not going to survive through the night. Ultimately, on September 21st 2020, at the young age of 25 years, Mary Ann passed away in our arms in the hospital bed as she took her last breath at 2:25AM.  Mary Ann is the epitome of a sweetheart and she has done nothing in her life but reciprocated love to everyone she has interacted with. She recently graduated from Dominican University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and passed her NCLEX and is a Registered nurse. Her goal was to become a Pediatric Oncologist Nurse and help those kids in need to inspire them through her personal journey that she went through. All donations, large or small, will help our families (me and Mary Ann's family) pay for her funeral expenses that is taking place in Rolling Hills Hilltop.

For all of those who have interacted with Mary Ann, and is experiencing hardships we would like you to understand that she wants everyone in this world to be happy. We understand that grief is inevitable, but through time our wounds will heal. The last thing Mary Ann would want is for her to know that we are crying, but just know that Mary Ann is now cancer free, and no longer in pain anymore. She can finally rest and receive all of the endless flowers and love she deserves.

"I have fought the fight,  I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)
