As many of you know, I was a veterinary technician for years. During that time, I realized there was a huge need for licensed wildlife rehabilitators here in Kentucky. The number of calls the clinic received about injured or orphaned wildlife was overwhelming. With the encouragement of my amazing friends and family, I decided to obtain my wildlife rehabilitation license.

Every year since, I’ve continued to grow as a rehabilitator—constantly researching, reading, and learning all I can to better care for our native wildlife.

This year has brought a big change for my family and me. We purchased a home along with 20 acres in Breckinridge County. This has been such a blessing because, for the first time, I not only have the space to rehabilitate wildlife but also the ability to provide pre-release care and complete many releases right here on our own property.

With this growth, however, come bigger needs and projects. For the first time, I am setting up a GoFundMe to help continue this work. My three main goals for the funds raised are:

Finish and pay off the release cage currently being built for squirrels and opossums.

Build a small building/tiny house to house wildlife in care and safely store rehabilitation supplies.

Apply for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status so this work can grow and reach even more of Kentucky’s wildlife in need.

If you would like to help me achieve these goals, I would be so grateful. As always, I cannot do what I do without the love and support of each and every one of you. Thank you for helping me rescue, rehabilitate, and return our native wildlife back to the wild where they belong!
