Our friend Shannon's dog Karl Marx was hit by a car on Sunday evening. He's been in the animal hospital since and will be for a bit. He went through serious shock and has had internal bleeding, but they've stabilized and so far so good. 

Shannon has said that Marx is, "my favourite Being in the world. He's been with me the day I moved away from home for my Masters, through sane and insane moments, across Canada for my PhD and has been included in my life like very few dogs get to experience. Please take a moment to really appreciate and love your animals."

Shannon is a PhD student (i.e., underfunded!) who does important work on social movements in South America, and is the most caring and empathetic individual most of us know. He goes above and beyond for the people in his life, from the students he teaches to the stranger on the street. Please support Marx's recovery and bring Shannon some peace of mind so he can come back to helping the world be a better place in full force with his furry sidekick!
