Help Marwa and her family leave Gaza and rebuild their lives

Hello I am Marwa Al hallaq from Gaza. I am married to Ahmed Abu Tabikh and we have three children, Karim 11 years old, Touline 7 years old and Celine is just 2 years old. We lost our house and place of safety, calmness, life and memories. We were displaced multiple times and we could not take anything with us. We lost all our belongings and our money. We are now homeless, without clothes, healthy food without any of the basic necessities of life. I decided to start this fundraiser to try to rebuild my small family’s dream.

What is the effect of war on us??

Since the beginning of the war, we were displaced to the south. Both our house and my husband’s workplace were bombed and completely destroyed. We are now experiencing extreme difficulties just trying to survive. My children have been infected with epidemics, weak immunity, and viruses.

Karim, my eldest son, is suffering from a difficult psychological state due to the loss of our home, his friends, his school, the ability to play and have a normal childhood. He even suffered burns to his foot due to using paper and wood to light a fire for cooking and heating due to the lack of gas. Karim lost his right to continue his education. He lost an entire year of his life in the fifth grade and due to the current situation he was unable to complete his education due to the destruction of schools and the use of what was left of them as shelter. We don't know how long this will last.

Seven-year-old Touline, my innocent, beautiful, calm child was in the first year of her educational life. Touline was supposed to be in the first grade of primary school, but unfortunately, she was only able to attend for one month. Now she mourns the loss of her belongings; her books, school clothes, her beautiful bag. All were completely burned. She also suffers from a difficult psychological condition. She wants to return to her home and her toys. She cries every day, afraid, will she lose her mother, her father, one of her brothers, just as she lost her house and her toys! Every night she wakes up in a hysterical state of crying, telling me “Did the Israeli army invade Rafah? Did the Israelis enter to kill us?” Touline was repeatedly infected with viruses and stomach infections as a result of eating canned food, contaminated water and an environment that is completely unfit for life.

Celine turned two years old on October 7th. They did not give us an hour to celebrate her birthday. I was braiding her hair at six o’clock in the morning to go to school when the war began igniting its fires. Our lives were turned upside down at this moment. My child, Celine, cries day and night. She wants to return home. She tells me “I want to go, I want my toys!” Celine contracted hepatitis. I feel very anxious and so oppressed. How can I keep my children in an unsafe and unhealthy place? My children lost their lives and their rights to live safely, to education, to live in a safe and clean environment. I want to survive with my children and my husband before I lose them or they lose me. Help us to survive. Help us to live a fair life like the rest of the world!

On October 14, we were displaced to Khan Yunis. We sheltered in a school. All the words in the world cannot describe the suffering that my children and I went through. After that, we were displaced to Rafah when the Israeli army invaded Khan Yunis. We stayed for two months in a relative's house before the area was bombed and destroyed. We then were displaced again and had to move into a tent. I can't find a description of tent life. Imagine that your entire house, your room, your living room, your bathroom, your balcony, your children’s room, everything was destroyed in cold blood while you were forced to live in a tent on the street. Life has completely stopped, to the point that we are forced to shower once every two weeks due to the lack of water, place and method for showering. The matter did not stop. On April 10, we were displaced again from Rafah to Deir al-Balah to a large, overpriced apartment. We are forced to live with five families in order to afford the rent. The apartment lacks the minimum necessities of life: no doors, no windows, no toilet, no kitchen.

To make matters worse, the previous gofundme campaign we had that raised over $11,000 got shut down entirely due to the organizer being fraudulent. We were forced to report our own page after finding out that he intended on keeping funds for himself. So now we have to start again from scratch after months of waiting.

Please donate and share this link on your social media to help my family safely evacuate to Egypt, where we can begin to rebuild our life! I thank you in advance for your help and I hope you remember every day that you can save an innocent family from death.
