Marvin is a loving husband, father, family and friend. He is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of help and very respected in his community.

On Feburary 2016 Marvin was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that metastasized to his bones from the neck to his thighs. After 8 months of chemotherapy treatments, all while driving 6 hours weekly from Louisiana to Houston, there seemed to be hope that he was healing from the cancer. Two weeks gone by and he was still complaining of severe back pain so after another trip to the doctor a scan showed the cancer has mutated into several tumors some to be very large in size wrapping around his spinal cord. The doctor had told him if he would have waited 2 more months he would have been paralyzed or possibily would have not survived.
After discussing several options they decided to hit his spine with 10 radiation treatments on the larger tumors but after all 10 treatments they did another scan they found a fracture on his mid lower vertabrae. His spine will not be able to with stand anymore radiation treatments.
On January 12th 2017 the doctors decided he needs 5 more months of aggressive chemotherapy treatments that will cause more trips to Houston and more costly medications for the aggressive growing cancer.
