Marvin’s surgery to save his leg
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lizzie and we are trying to raise funds to save our rescue kitten Marvin’s leg. We adopted him from Zoe’s Ark as a kitten, he was born in the rescue to Maggie, alongside his 2 sisters Molly and Megan. Marvin is only 11 months old and has suffered a spontaneous capital physeal fracture. Basically it can happen to young male cats where the cat’s bones are immature so there is a weakness and the bone becomes detached. He is in a lot of pain and cannot weight bare. We took him to the vets where he was sedated and x-rayed which showed this injury. We have been told to treat it properly it will cost a minimum of £4000. The other option is to remove parts of the hip and leg bone, so not grinding and causing pain. It will remain unattached and this option is around £800 and he may be able to walk but will be disabled. An amputation of his leg may be needed in future. Marvin is the sweetest natured boy and purrs so loudly. We really want to save his leg and allow him to gain full use of it. However we are not able to afford this course of treatment without your help. My 6 year old son came up with the idea of trying to raise funds online. He is also looking for toys to sell to help his kitten. Please help if you can. We are so grateful if we can raise anything towards his vet bill. It has already cost £240 for sedation and an x-ray then £40 for pain medication. We thank you for reading this and we will update you on Marvin’s progress.
