To all Romina & Marvin's friends, family, colleagues or those who just want to make a difference.
This fundraiser has for purpose not only to show them our support, but also relieving them from the financial burden that such a heavy challenge represents.
In 2019, Romina was diagnosed with stage1 breast cancer. After long and heavy chemotherapy and mastectomy, Romina and Marvin thought that they were finally seeing the end of the tunnel. It's only in early 2021 that they realized that the fight against her cancer wasn't over when she got diagnosed with stage4 metastatic breast cancer, cancer that spread to her vital organs.
Despite her young age, in march of this year, Romina was given 6 months by her oncologist after her 2 cycles of chemo failed to slow down the progression.
In a last hope, and to fight all the odds, Marvin and Romina relocated in Arizona to start both integrative and conventional treatments in a new cancer medial center. Unfortunately, most of these treatments are not provided in conventional cancer treatment centers, and therefore not covered by their insurances.
These treatments are meant to boost her immune system, strengthen, detox and promote anticancer environment in her body while also undergoing targeted chemo and immuno-therapy. Such treatment cost over $50k a month in addition to the sleepless nights and countless side effects.
Those that have been affected directly or indirectly by this disease know the psychological and financial cost of such treatment. And in this hard time, receiving help is priceless.
This fundraiser is a way to show them our love, compassion and support through this extremely complicated time, but it is also the opportunity to release them from the financial burden that such a heavy treatment represents.
We can help them fighting the odds and offer them the opportunity to focus on beating cancer while alleviating their financial challenge ahead.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to read about their story.
