Marvin "Bo" Greer graduated from Edison HIgh School in 1945. From there he attended Trinity University where he obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degree. He returned to Edison as a Biology and Physical Education Teacher, was a successful Coach in football, basketball and track of the Bears for many years, was appointed Vice Principal and was Principal of the School from 1963 to 1971. He moved to the Northeast School District at that time and was Principal at Nimitz Middle School, Theodore Roosevelt High School and was the first Principal named at James Madison High School. His passion for education remains to this day and he continues to keep in touch with past students and attends Class reunions regularly. The Latest being the Edison Class of 1966 50th reunion.



Bo will be celebrating his 90th Birthday in April of this year. He is in failing health and the family has organized a Scholarship to benefit Edison High School Students in his name. ( IRS EIN # 82-0660312 the Marvin E. Greer Scholarship Fund ) The Scholarship will be administered via the guidelines of the San Antonio Independent School District Administrative Procedures. It will focus on an athlete from Edison who intends to go to college and needs financial assistance pursuing his or her their educational dreams.
This site is intended to raise funds to create this scholarship and will be set up to continue for years to come. Please consider donating and help us spread the word now.
