Hi, my name is Stephanie. I adopted Marty on November 14, 2020, and he's an extraordinary cat.

He came to me with an FIV+ diagnosis and only one eye. Since then, Marty has been diagnosed with IBD, FLUTD, arthritis, and a few other conditions. He has been to the vet more often than any cat I've ever known! Despite having the good sense to insure him, the cost of his care has now exceeded both his insurance coverage and my ability to pay.

Marty was recently really sick, and his doctors discovered a blockage in his gastrointestinal tract. They said it was likely a hairball and recommended surgery. I approved the operation with the plan that we would let him go if it turned out it was a tumor instead of a hairball.

Thankfully, it was indeed a hairball, the surgery went well, and Marty is now home resting and recovering.

Why should you donate to Marty? Marty is a really special cat. He's smart and willing to learn lots of tricks. He loves everyone he's ever met, and he's super affectionate. All the vets he's ever met adore him. Before he got sick again, I used to walk him on a leash, and he developed a fan club among our neighbors. As they walked past our apartment, I even overheard one of the neighbors say to their friend, "Marty lives there. I wish he was on his catio so you could see him."
