Martyn's Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Ben and I am fundraising for my dad Martyn.

Some of you may know my dad was seriously injured whilst preparing to watch his beloved Scunthorpe United at Gloucester three weeks ago.

My dad was hit on the head, during the warm-up, by a ball which caused him to fall and hit his head.

Unfortunately, dad currently remains in Intensive Care at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, a very long way from his residence in Skegness and for our family in Lincolnshire.

We understand that this is the start of a very long and turbulent journey for our amazing dad but we want to try to do all we can to support his recovery and to be with him every step of the way, as we know he would do for us.

He is the kindest, most generous, loving person you could ever wish to meet and hopefully, with your support, we can get some pieces of that wonderful man back.

As I mentioned earlier, dad is currently a long way from home, 210 miles, in order to support his recovery we are trying to be with dad as much as possible, and this is where we ask for your support, the financial constraints make it very difficult in what is already a very challenging financial time for a lot of people.

My older brother and I both have young families so this makes it even more challenging, therefore one of the ways in which we plan to use the donations is supporting with travel and accommodation.

We also plan to use the money to support dad's recovery/rehabilitation when that time comes and any remaining money will be donated to a charity of the family's choosing.
