My name is Jen and I am Jean's daughter and Marty's step daughter. I thought about the many charities that we could donate to in lieu of flowers and in discussing options with my Mom two days before her husband's funeral, I realized that SHE would be the person that could really use support right now.

Marty fought a long hard battle against covid in 2020 and was put on a ventilator and miraculously survived before vaccines were available. He spent months recovering slowly BUT never quite resumed to good health as he had underlying heart issues and had 3 heart attacks resulting in other medical complications. He was hospitalized for several weeks on end on at least 3 occasions. After a heart attack this past July, they also diagnosed him with Leukemia and he had been going through intensive chemotherapy. In his last heart attack right after New Year's 2023 he couldn't be operated on and went into organ failure and passed away a few days later. While all this was happening, he and his wife Jean, who became his main caretaker for the past several years, were unable to work and mounted medical bills. Jean also survived breast cancer in 22' with surgury and ongoing radiation and continued to care for Marty.
