My name is Marti. I am 54 years old, and I’m reaching out today to ask for your support in a life-changing journey. Due to lifelong complications from TMJ or temporal mandibular joint disorder, and maybe exacerbated by talking too much, I need to undergo surgery to replace my left jaw. This procedure isn’t just about restoring function—it’s about regaining a piece of my life, my confidence, and my ability to smile, chew, or speak without significant pain.

Unfortunately, this surgery’s financial burden is unattainable for me, even with the help of close family. I am humbly turning to my community for help. The surgeon is in the field of dentistry, but because it is a medical procedure, dental insurance (obviously) will not cover it. On the other hand, because the doctor is in the dental field, medical insurance will ALSO not cover it. The fee for the surgeon is 16,000! This does not include the hospital stay, anesthesia, the four-hour surgery, or the four-month recovery time.
