Hospital Error caused My husbands brain injury
Donation protected
Hi my name is Gaby Munoz. I'm Martins wife. On 3/26/22, I drove my husband to Highland Hospital Emergency room in Oakland CA. He was diagnosed with a strep throat/ throat infection. He was having problems brathing due to his neck swelling; he was intubated. He was put on very low sedation. On 3/27/22, I received the scariest call of my life. I was told he went into Cardiac Arrest because of the tube placed in his throat was too small, and it did not give oxygen to his heart. Twelve minutes later, he was brought back to life. Twelve minutes w/no oxygen caused a significant brain injury. He is now still in the hospital, but he lost all central mobility. He can only open and blink his eyes. Martin is a very healthy man. No medical problems at all. He worked so much to give us a comfortable life. He was our household's primary support. We have a 5yr old who misses him but doesn't understand why he's not home. He also has a 17yr old son in Mexico and his father, who Martin took care of. As you may realize, my life was turned upside down, and I had to take care of our family. I had to let go of our house we moved back to my parents. Anything donated will go to his kids and parents in Mexico. Also, to his recovery. Anything will be greatly appreciated
