Martin's Fight Against Mesothelioma Cancer - Marathon Run

Donation protected
Back in July our very dear friend and Uncle was diagnosed with Malignant Mesothelioma, a deadly and aggressive form of cancer that develops in the lungs and sadly as it stands is a terminal illness which has no cure.

Doctors predicted Martin had 6 months but we all know he's an absolute warrior and born fighter! Promptly after diagnosis he was offered a clinical trial at Addenbrookes which he began straight away, this was extremely hard for Martin and for loved ones around him to witness, going from feeling there was nothing wrong, feeling fit and healthy to having your whole life turned upside down straight into rounds and rounds of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy which left him hospitalised feeling extremely weak and unwell very quickly. Around 10-12 weeks in, discussions were had around stopping the Chemotherapy whilst staying on the trial receiving just the Immunotherapy but almost less than a week later the decision was taken away from Martin and the trial had to stop due to severe side affects from the trial, at which point they also found out he had developed Colitis from all the Chemo. The Colitis has been such an awful condition for Martin to try live with spending most his days at Addenbrookes and being closely monitored, since then he has started a new treatment through AstraZeneca in an attempt to treat the Colitis caused by the original trial.

It's a constant ongoing daily battle for Martin and Jannette and those that know Martin would 100% agree what a truly wonderful human being this man is, a salt of the earth, would do anything for anyone and we love him to bits and would love to do our bit in an attempt to help the fight against Mesothelioma.

Anita and I are not active runners by a mile but have excitedly signed up for MK Marathon which takes place on Monday 5th May (that's just over 21 weeks as I write this) in an attempt of raising awareness and money in aid of Mesothelioma Uk and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
