** Please Note - All donations placed here for Golf Outing Aug 16th for sponsorships or golf foursomes will be directly contributed to the Golf Outing and foundation for Martin O'Donnell. Registration for Golf outing will begin at 11 am on Monday Aug 16th, Shotgun start 12 noon followed by dinner and open bar for all guests at Sonny's Canal House Baldwin Harbor.
To those that knew him, whether through the famed O'Donnell's pub of Mineola, from his native home of Donegal, from his days behind the bar at Sonny's Canal House in Baldwin Harbor or his post as foreman for MooreGroup Construction of New York, Martin O'Donnell was a true character, a loyal friend, and a man who'd give the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. Always quick with a warm greeting and a funny quip, Martin was a hardworking father, a devoted husband and a proud Irishman.
Tragically, after a long & hard battle with Covid-19, compounded by past health complications, Martin passed away in May of this year. He is survived by 5 year daughter Rania beginning kindergarten this year, by his beloved wife Siham, by son Kevin O'Donnell, by brothers Gerry O'Donnell, John Joe O'Donnell, sisters Stella O'Donnell, Anne Teresa & Mary Grace O’Donnell, Mother Teresa O'Donnell. Also in remembrance of late brother Kevin O'Donnell. This page has been created by friends of Martin, in order that we may fundraise to help Martin's family through this difficult and tragic time, and avoid the burden of unforeseen expenses, both short and long term. 100% of all proceeds raised will be allocated directly to Martin's family to be utilized as needed, with the primary objective of securing a college fund for cherished daughter Rania.
As a major part of this fundraiser, we have arranged a golf outing on August 16th, 2021, at Middle Bay Golf Course in Oceanside, New York, with all funds raised on that day being allocated to this fund to meet our target goal of $30,000.00. We invite all friends of Martin to join us on the day if possible by securing a foursome, with the price per golfer being $250 for the day. Flyers will be distributed on Long Island, with a Facebook event group and contact information soon to follow. Alternatively, individuals and businesses may choose to sponsor a hole for $100, or sponsor a green for $200, with a sign being made and placed at each hole for each sponsor. The event will be hosted by Martin's brother Gerry O'Donnell (of SALT Merrick, Sonny's Canal House Baldwin & Parlay RVC) as well as best friend & Kerryman Paddy Galvin. Prizes and giveaways will be given on course, with an open bar being held at Sonny's Canal House in Baldwin Harbor afterwards.
